A mindful relationship

Want to know what a mindful relationship looks like?

Well, don’t expect perfection, but do expect progress. People who choose to be mindful with one another will learn from mistakes, both theirs and others’, and will make choices based on experience. A mindful person will see that their partner enjoys certain things and celebrate that, while avoiding the things they don’t enjoy.

Now, you all still have to do the dishes, so you don’t get a pass out of that. But if you’re mindful that your partner really hates folding laundry, and it doesn’t bother you to do it, why not do it for them, and show that you are attentive to their needs as well? If your partner is a terrible cook and hates doing it, why not try picking up the slack for them on that task?

If any and all partners in a relationship try to find the places where their loved ones are most joyful, there will be much fewer places of tension and worry among you, and you might find yourself with even more to be grateful for.
